The rule is 45 classroom hours before the first renewal

DBPR's education page says candidates who pass the sales associate exam must satisfactorily complete a Commission-prescribed post-licensing course before the first renewal following initial licensure. For a sales associate, the courses must total at least 45 classroom hours. Brokers have a different hour total on that same page. This guide is the sales associate course only.

The Commission home page is blunter about the deadline: failure to comply with post-licensing education by the expiration date on your license will result in your license going null and void. The fee and the education are both due by midnight Eastern Standard Time on March 31 or September 30. If that date is a holiday or weekend, the renewal period runs to the next business day at midnight Eastern Standard Time.

What online actually means

Distance and correspondence courses are part of the provider system. Schools report rosters electronically, and correspondence completions are reported by the fifth day of the following month. Post-license hours may not show up on the continuing education panel of MyFloridaLicense. DBPR tells licensees to keep a paper copy of the completion certificate for an audit.

Before you enroll, match three labels: sales associate, post-license, and at least 45 hours. A 14-hour CE cart is the later renewal. A 63-hour pre-license cart is the course you already finished. A broker post-license cart is a different license.

Degree exemption and the attorney rule

A four-year degree in real estate from an accredited institution of higher education exempts the post-license education requirement. Attorneys are not exempt from post-licensing education, even when they had a pre-license path difference. Confirm the paperwork with DBPR before you skip the course. Do not treat a law degree, an out-of-state license, or a brokerage promise as the exemption.

Online prices opened on 20 October 2026

Online 24/7 listed the 45 hr Sales Associate Post Licensing Course at $145.00 against a $265.00 list sticker on its post-license page. Use the sale and the list as two numbers. Ignore marketing pass rates on that page. Pearson still scored your license exam at 75 correct out of 100. This course is a school completion, not a second state exam.

Cooke Real Estate School listed Bronze at $139, Silver at $199, and Platinum at $299 for course approval number 0010601. Bronze is the online post-license course plus the associate post-license textbook. You have six months from purchase to finish, with paid extensions that still cannot push the course past one year. Match that clock to your expiration date. A six-month access window that ends after your license expires does not help you.

Mato School of Real Estate listed the online 45-hour course at $169, English course 0031730 and Spanish course 0031729. The page describes on-demand video and a one-year enrollment, or until you pass the course exam, whichever comes first. The Spanish number is a post-license course, not Casa's 63-hour Spanish course 0032665.

Larson Educational Services listed the online instructor-led course at $229, DBPR course 0023389, with a one-year tuition policy. Larson's own end-of-course exam is 100 questions with 75% to pass (75 correct), plus a retest rule if you fail. That is Larson's school exam. It is not the Pearson VUE state exam you already took.

Casa Academy's enroll page is titled Post-Licensing Course (45 Hours) at /enroll/postlicensing. The $199 pre-license tuition does not include it. Open the live page for the current checkout price. Any approved school can satisfy the 45 hours. This page stays useful if you never buy Casa.

The school exam is not Pearson

Florida schools commonly use a 70% bar on a pre-license school final. Some post-license schools publish their own end-of-course percentage. Pearson VUE's sales associate exam is 100 scored questions, about 3.5 hours, 75 correct to pass. You already needed that Pearson score to get the license. Post-license keeps the first renewal alive. Do not mix the three bars.

What $199 still does not include

The $199 pre-license checkout includes the 63-hour course, access until you finish, 650+ practice questions, a chapter-weighted timed exam, a ChatGPT tutor in every lesson, and English or Spanish as two full courses (0032664 and 0032665). The tutor can talk in many languages. The course itself is English or Spanish only, not every language.

RE 1 ($62.75), fingerprints, Pearson ($36.75), this 45-hour course, later 14-hour CE, broker coursework, MLS access, and Realtor dues stay outside that checkout.
