Use 14-hour CE only after the first renewal

DBPR says the first renewal after you receive a sales associate license requires 45 hours of post-license education, and missing that deadline makes the license null and void. Continuing education starts on later renewals. If your license is still in its first cycle, stop here and use the 45-hour post-license guide instead of a 14-hour CE cart.

The education page states the later mix in plain language: 14 hours consisting of 3 hours of Core Law, 3 hours of Ethics and Business Practices, and 8 hours of specialty education. That mix is mandatory for licenses that expire on or after 30 September 2018. A random 14-hour bundle that skips Business Ethics credit will leave the file short even if the hour total looks right.

The deadline is midnight Eastern on your expiration date

Both the renewal fee and the education are due no later than midnight Eastern Standard Time on the expiration date, which is March 31 or September 30. If that date falls on a holiday or weekend, DBPR extends the renewal to the next business day at midnight Eastern Standard Time. Your exact date is on the MyFloridaLicense dashboard, not in a school ad.

Schools must report attendance electronically. Distance and correspondence completions are reported on the schedule DBPR publishes for providers. Keep your own completion certificate. Post-license hours are not treated as continuing education on the portal, so a missing CE line after a first renewal is not the same problem as a missing later-cycle CE line.

How to pick the best package

Best means the package that matches the 3 plus 3 plus 8 mix, reports to DBPR, and fits the days you actually have. Price is the second check. A live class is useful if you want an instructor on a calendar. A self-paced package is useful if your expiration is close and you need to start tonight.

Read four lines before checkout: the hour split, the access window, whether completion is reported to DBPR, and whether the ethics hours are Business Ethics credit (E and B), not a generic ethics label. DBPR has warned providers that an old ethics approval does not automatically carry Business Ethics credit, including for secondary providers.

Gold Coast Schools listed a self-paced 14-Hour Online package at $29.95, with access for 1 year, unlimited test attempts, and DBPR reporting included upon completion. The same page also sells live and correspondence options. Confirm you are buying the 14-hour renewal package, not a post-license course. Gold Coast itself says a first renewal needs the sales associate post-license course.

The CE Shop listed three Florida 14-hour packages on its broker and sales continuing education page: the 14-Hr. FL CE Package at $39, the 14-Hr. FL CE Package for REALTORS at $45, and the 14-Hr. FL CE Package Plus ProPath at $75. Each package states 6 law and ethics hours and 8 specialty hours. The REALTOR package adds association-training courses. Confirm with your local association before you treat a school ethics course as NAR Code of Ethics credit. ProPath hours are professional development and are not part of the 14 mandatory hours.

Kaplan listed the 14-Hour Continuing Education Live Online Class at seventy-nine dollars, PID 836894, with Sales Associate credits of 14.00. The page says the package covers 3-hour core law, 3-hour ethics, and 8-hour specialty credits. That is a scheduled live class, not a start-tonight file.

Casa Academy sells Continuing Education (14 Hours) at /enroll/continuing-education. The $199 pre-license checkout does not include it. Open that enroll page for the current CE price. Any DBPR-approved provider can satisfy the 14 hours. This comparison stays useful if you never buy Casa.

What the $199 pre-license checkout still excludes

Public pre-license tuition on the English and Spanish enroll pages is $199 for the current cohort, then $249 after that cohort fills. That checkout includes the 63-hour course, access until you finish, 650+ practice questions, a timed full exam weighted to Florida chapter weights, a ChatGPT tutor in every lesson, SM-2 flashcards, and English or Spanish as two full courses. DBPR RE 1 ($62.75), Livescan fingerprints, the Pearson VUE exam fee ($36.75), the 45-hour post-license course, 14-hour continuing education, broker coursework, MLS access, and Realtor association dues stay outside that checkout. CE is a later purchase.

CE completion is not the Florida state exam

You already sat the state exam before you reached CE. Florida schools commonly use a 70% bar on a school final for pre-license coursework. Pearson VUE gives the state exam: 100 scored questions, about 3.5 hours, 75 correct to pass. A CE certificate reports renewal education. It does not change that Pearson score, and it does not replace the renewal fee.
