Florida Real Estate Exam Passing Score: 75 Points

See how Florida scores the 100-question sales associate exam, what happens after a failed attempt, and how to measure readiness before rescheduling.

The Florida real estate sales associate exam passing score is 75 points. The examination has 100 multiple-choice questions, all questions are equally weighted, and DBPR grades the exam on a 100-point scale. A grade of 75 or higher passes. Candidates receive three and a half hours to complete the exam.

These figures come from the current DBPR sales associate candidate booklet and the official Florida licensure requirements. Use those state materials if an older prep article or forum gives a different number.

Is the passing score 75 points or 75 percent?

DBPR’s precise wording is a grade of 75 points or higher on an exam graded on the basis of 100 points. Because the sales associate exam contains 100 equally weighted questions, students often describe that as 75 percent or 75 correct answers. “75 points” is the official rule; “75 percent” is the practical shorthand.

Do not confuse the state exam with a school’s 63-hour pre-licensing end-of-course exam. They are separate examinations with separate rules. Completing the school course makes you eligible for the state process, but passing the course final does not mean you have passed the DBPR licensure exam.

Florida sales associate exam format

• 100 multiple-choice questions with four answer choices.

• Three and a half hours of total testing time.

• 100 points available, with 75 points required to pass.

• Nineteen content areas spanning license law, brokerage, contracts, finance, property rights, appraisal, math, taxation, and planning and zoning.

• An official photo-bearing result report provided immediately after the examination.

What happens if you score below 75?

A score below 75 does not complete the licensure examination requirement. Keep the result report, review the testing documents that remain valid, and make a new reservation through Pearson VUE when you are ready. A new examination reservation requires another test fee; confirm the current amount before scheduling.

The current DBPR booklet does not publish a universal multi-day waiting period after a failed sales associate examination. Appointment availability, valid exam authorization, a valid pre-licensing completion certificate, payment, and any candidate-specific instructions still control when you can test again. Check Pearson VUE’s current Florida real estate page rather than relying on an unofficial delay quoted online.

Your course certificate must still be valid

Bring the required pre-licensing course completion certificate every time you take the exam. DBPR states that the certificate is valid for two years after course completion. An expired certificate is not accepted at the test center even if an authorization to test is still valid, and arriving without the required document can cost the examination fee for that appointment.

Failed-exam review: the 21-day window

A candidate who fails may request a review of the questions answered incorrectly. The request must be made within 21 days of the examination. The review covers only the most recent exam and takes place under testing-center security rules; it is not a take-home copy of the test.

During the review session, a candidate may challenge a question through the formal process described in the booklet. DBPR reports that challenge responses average about 21 days and are limited to whether credit was granted. Decide quickly whether a review is worthwhile so the request window does not expire.

Use readiness—not one lucky score—to choose a test date

The state requires 75 points, but a single practice score of 75 is a fragile readiness signal. Casa Academy recommends building a buffer through several timed, mixed-topic attempts. Treat consistent scores at or above 80 percent as an internal study benchmark, not a DBPR rule or a guarantee of passing.

Start with free Florida exam readiness practice, then review the Florida exam authority hub and the highest-weight chapters. Full exam prep adds repeated simulations, weak-area tracking, flashcards, and explanations when one short practice set is not enough.

A practical readiness checklist

• Complete several full-length or representative mixed-topic sets instead of memorizing one question bank order.

• Track accuracy by topic and revisit unresolved mistakes in license law, contracts, finance, math, and brokerage activities.

• Practice within the official three-and-a-half-hour limit and leave time to review marked questions.

• Confirm your course certificate, identification, authorization details, appointment location, and current Pearson policies before test day.
