Wyoming salesperson candidates take a national section and a Wyoming state-law section administered by Pearson VUE. The national portion includes 80 scored multiple-choice questions plus five unscored pretest items in 2.5 hours. The Wyoming state portion includes 40 scored multiple-choice questions plus five to ten unscored pretest items in 1.5 hours. You may schedule both portions in one appointment or reserve them separately. Pearson VUE converts raw performance to scaled scores from 0 to 100. You must be at least the age of the majority, complete WREC-approved pre-licensing coursework, submit fingerprint cards with the Attorney General fee, pass both Pearson VUE exam portions at a scaled score of 75 or higher, submit your WREC license application with E&O insurance proof and the $300 licensing fee within 90 days of your last passing exam date, and satisfy all current WREC forms listed on realestate.wyo.gov before the Commission issues your license.
Difficulty depends on your preparation, but the scope is broad because Wyoming scores two sections independently on a scaled basis. You need a scaled score of 75 on an 80-question national block and a scaled score of 75 on a 40-question Wyoming law block covering intermediary relationships, trust funds, the recovery fund, WREC enforcement, and Wyoming-specific statutes. Pearson VUE reports scaled scores from 0 to 100 on each section, and the scaled score is not the number or percentage of questions you answered correctly. That means there is no official raw miss count you can rely on before test day. You need a scaled score of at least 75 on both the national and Wyoming state sections independently. Unscored pretest items do not affect your score.
