New York Real Estate Practice Exam

Unlike states that split national and state law into separate scored portions at PSI or Pearson VUE centers, New York administers one multiple-choice written exam based on the official 77-hour salesperson syllabus. Applicants receive one and one-half hours after the instructions conclude. • Be at least 18 years old and hold current government-issued photo identification acceptable at the exam site.
• Complete 77 hours of Department of State approved qualifying education, pass the school proctored final exam, and retain your course completion certificate. • Pass the Department of State written salesperson examination scheduled through eAccessNY ($15 fee per attempt).

• Apply for licensure within two years of passing the written examination and pay the $65 initial application fee for a two-year license term.
• Answer criminal history and background questions accurately on the application; the Department of State reviews eligibility case by case when prior convictions or pending charges are disclosed.
